Budgets are useful tools, but many adults with ADD do not stick to them. While it takes a lot of planning to do a budget, often a budget does not take into account additional expenses or income that you receive. While this could be a set back for adults who do not have ADD, it could cause some adults with ADD to go completely off-track. An example of that an unplanned auto repair expense will cause some adults with ADD to not pay any of their bills because they are not sure which bills they should not pay. Whenever you are about to receive money make a plan of how you are going to spend it. Say I received $500 a week for pay. My budget would look like this:
Savings $50.00 (always pay yourself first)
Rent $150.00
Food $75.00
Credit Card $35.00
Auto Loan $100.00
Phone $50.00
Entertainment $ 40.00
TOTAL $500.00
